The Family Healthy Weight Program (FHWP) is a free, evidence-based program designed for families with children ages 6 to 18 who want support with building healthy routines. Whether you're looking for guidance about nutrition, physical activity, screen time, or managing stress—FHWP meets families where they are and helps them make sustainable, lasting changes.

Programs are offered in multiple communities statewide and are led by trusted local organizations.

  • 26+ hours of expert-led guidance over several months
  • Focus areas include healthy eating, movement, sleep, and mental wellness
  • Delivered by trained community organizations in a supportive, group-based format

Family Healthy Weight Programs are currently recruiting for several locations across Maine, including Bangor and Southwest Harbor. We’re in the process of finalizing each site’s details and will add direct sign-up links here soon.
